
Marco was born in Newark, N.J. and grew up at the Jersey shore.
At an early age was drawn to everything drums at age 12 started taking lessons and playing in Garage bands. At 18 started studying with an Atlantic City Jazz drummer Ray Nunzi Who turned him on to Jazz drumming and Advanced concepts like Polyrhythms, Odd Meter and The Musicians Institute in L.A. The following year he enrolled to M.I. and moved to Hollywood CA. once there he would Study with some of the greatest studio and stage drummers of all time like Joe Porcaro (Father of the late great Jeff Porcaro) and Ralph Humphrey odd meter guru with Don Ellis and Frank Zappa, Casey Scheuerell (Gino Vannelli 77, Jean Luc-Ponty 78-79) Marco Graduated from M.I. in 1989
After school returned home to New Jersey and started playing around Asbury Park, N.J. with hair metal band Stone Cold while teaching drums at L&M Music in Forked River N.J. for many years while taking his own lessons with Jazz great Joe Morello In West Orange N.J. Joe was famous for the drum solo in the song “take five”. Joe became his mentor for the next few years studying The Moeller technique and classical snare drumming. In the 90’s Marco started playing with a jazz guitarist Lucien Nocelli for five years and recorded several contemporary jazz cds. Also played in many Blues and top 40 bands around the same time throughout Southern N.J. and PA. The Bob Smith Blues Band, The Be Bop Gypsies, Chris Rynolds top 40 beach bar band (Wildwood, Cape May, Atlantic City, Ocean City), Sex and Violets, Etc. Never stopping his quest for higher learning in the late 90’s continued his studies at Drummers Collective in NYC with Kim Plainfield teacher and Author of Advanced Concepts and drummer for Bill Connors, Tia Marie, Didier Lockwood and the Pointer Sisters. Kim was a tough teacher who would bring all genres of music along with advanced drumming systems together for him.
In 2003 Marco Moved to Texas with his wife Maria and two boys Matthew and Marco. where he continued to play in bands around New Braunfels and Austin, Texas has given him the true love of Texas Blues and Americana music along with becoming a great musical home for his family where both his boys play drums and are heavily involved in the Texas music scene.
